The July 2012 report for residential construction from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development was released August 16. Below is a summary of the latest figures:
- up 29.5% over July 2011
- up 6.8% over June of this year
Housing Starts
- up 21.5% over July 2011 down 1.1% from June
Housing Completions
- up 5.4% over July 2011
- 7.1% above June
Economic indicators for new residential construction and sales, manufacturing, retail, U.S. international trade, construction spending, and homeownership are released every month by the U.S. Census and Department of Housing and Urban Development. The May 2012 report is due June 19, 2012.
